Affiliate Disclosure
How we make money, and why it doesn't influence our reviews.

Our Commitment to Honest Reviews
PlayCanadianCasino.ca is an independently owned website. We do not work for, own shares in, or take direction from any of the casino operators we review. Our editorial team makes all rating and recommendation decisions on the basis of independent testing, public licensing data, and player experience — never on the size of an affiliate commission.
What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate link is a specially tracked hyperlink. When you click one of our links to a casino operator and subsequently sign up and/or make a deposit, the operator pays us a small commission. This is one of the most common ways independent review sites sustain themselves without charging readers a subscription fee.
All outbound casino links on this site are tagged with the ?s=sp51774 parameter (or a similar network-specific identifier) so the operator's system can attribute the referral to us.
How Affiliate Relationships Affect Our Content
Affiliate relationships do not affect our editorial output. Specifically:
- Ratings are independent. A casino that pays us a higher commission does not receive a higher rating. Our rating methodology is published openly on the "How We Rate" section of our homepage.
- Bonuses and offers are checked. When we describe a bonus or promotion, we have personally verified the current public terms on the operator's own website. We do not promote offers that are inaccurate, expired, or only available to non-Canadian players.
- AGCO compliance is non-negotiable. Under Ontario's iGaming rules, casinos cannot advertise financial incentives (welcome bonuses, free spins, deposit matches) to Ontario residents. Our site reflects that rule: we do not advertise specific bonus amounts, free spin counts, or wagering requirements for the Ontario market. We may mention that a casino "offers a welcome package" or "runs a loyalty program" in general terms.
- Negative reviews are permitted. If an operator's service deteriorates, we lower the rating and explain why. We have removed operators from our recommendations in the past when warranted (e.g. AGCO enforcement actions, persistent payout complaints, or licence revocation).
Casinos We Do Not Promote
We do not promote:
- Offshore or unlicensed operators targeting Canadian players
- Operators whose primary regulator is not a recognised jurisdiction (e.g. those holding only a Curaçao sub-licence with no separate AGCO/iGO approval for Ontario)
- Any operator subject to an active AGCO enforcement action or unresolved player complaint pattern
- Social/casino-sweepstakes sites that mimic real-money gambling without proper disclosures
Editorial Independence: Who Funds This Site?
This site is funded almost entirely by affiliate commissions from the operators listed in our reviews. The operators listed here include (but may not be limited to): Royal Vegas, Jackpot City, Ruby Fortune, Spin Casino, and Betway — each of which is licensed by iGaming Ontario and/or a recognised international regulator (Malta Gaming Authority, UK Gambling Commission, Kahnawake Gaming Commission).
We do not currently accept:
- Paid reviews or sponsored placements
- Payment for higher search rankings
- Donations or compensation from any party in exchange for editorial coverage
Material Connections
Under Canadian and U.S. FTC guidelines, we are required to disclose "material connections" — relationships that might reasonably affect the credibility of a recommendation. Our material connection is the affiliate commission described above. We disclose it on this page, on every page that contains affiliate links (in the footer), and in any individual review where the relationship is most likely to affect reader judgement.
